End of September, any news on this?

Unfortunately no good news, we still don't have the firmware update from Toshiba that will run directly from within Windows.

FWNV16 still can't be installed from an external drive.

Do you really want me to find out myself how to use the updater utility in linux directly?

I suppose it doesn't work in FWNV17 either?

I'm told that FWNV17 is able to flash Toshiba NVMe SSD directly from within Windows.  This is different than previous versions where they rebooted to linux to flash.  I haven't personally tried it.

Re: Upgrade NVMe SSD firmware to FWNV15 (X1 Carbon 5th Gen)

I was able to flash my Lenovo 256GB SSD using FWNV17 from Windows (although it appeared to only work on the second attempt), unlike FWNV16 which flashed on reboot from Linux and required BitLocker to be turned off, so progress is being made with this.

Re: Upgrade NVMe SSD firmware to FWNV15 (X1 Carbon 5th Gen)

Thanks, good to hear. Unfortunately neither FWNV16 nor FWNV17 are available for download? It looks like FWNV15 is now the most recent version again Smiley Happy
