VGA and Displayport output on Ultrabase

Hi;

I have X230 with Ultrabase.

I connect one external monitor, and I can work with dual monotors (original Thinkpad monitor plus one external). It works both when I connect external monitor through VGA port on ultrabase or if I connect another external monitor through Displayport on ultrabase.

The problem is I can't connect both external monitors at the same time.

VGA monitor always "wins" if both are connected. No matter whether I plugged displayport first or VGA first, as sson as both are connected the Displayport one goes to sleep and only VGA one works. Original laptop monitor is always on, that doesnt change.

I tried connecting Displayport monitor first and setting it as a main monitor. That didnt work either, as sson as VGA got connected the Displayport one shuts down.

Windows display settings show all three monitors (when they are connected), but the Displayport one is grayed out and inactive when VGA monitor is connected.

Could you, please, help with that?

Thank you!

Kate

Re: VGA and Displayport output on Ultrabase

are you trying to use 2 external monitor + 1 internal LCD?

Re: VGA and Displayport output on Ultrabase

in which case, you may need to connect one of the monitor to the miniDP on the laptop, and one monitor to the DP on the ultrabase.

If you use the VGA, then the laptop will only support 2 LCD (1 internal + 1 external or 2 external + 0 internal).
