Vista SP1 clash with Intel display driver (lgdkmd32.sys)

2008-03-26, 11:54 AM
The ThinkPad X61s comes with a version of the Intel display driver (lgdkmd32.sys) that is incompatible with Vista SP1. If we have that driver, Windows Update won't give us SP1. And no newer driver for the X61s seems available. Any news on when we can expect a fix for this problem?

The driver works fine with SP1, however, the process that Microsoft is using to distribute SP1 via Windows Update does not like it..... for some reason which appears to be unconnected with its actual use on ThinkPads.

If you are desperate to have the Vista SP1, you can manually download it and install it.

Cheers,

Installing the manually downloaded version went smoothly, without a hitch.

Thank you, Bill.
