WWAN NOT WORKING LENOVO X1 Carbon 3rd Gen (Type 20BS, 20BT) Model 20BTS0XH0N

2020-01-05, 17:02 PM

Hi Guys , since windows 10 November 2019 update aswell as latest Bios Updatefor my laptop - I noticed my Sim Card and WWAN not working anymore.

  1. Laptop has the latest Ericsson Drivers installed
  2. The Antenna finds my LTE Network
  3. APN saved

Yet windows wont connect and keep me connected, and when I connect manually I get a error message?

Any Ideas?

I have reinstalled the WWAN drivers in device manager

I have done complete Network Reset in windows?

Sim Card is active and working (tested it in my IPAD)

Help please, need connection for work purposes

Hi Jabez! Try running the Network troubleshooter:
1. Settings --> Update & Security --> Troubleshoot
2. Select the Network Adapter option and click the Run the troubleshooter button.
3. Select all network adapter --> Click the Next button.

If the issue is the same, try reinstalling the WWAN driver from our website: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-x-series-laptops/thinkpad-x1-carbon-20bs-20bt/20bs/downloads/driver-list/component?name=Networking%3A%20Wireless%20WAN. Let us know how it goes.

Facing a similar issue.

Proceeding to download the "exe" file with wireless module drivers from the download page

https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-x-series-laptops/thinkpad-x1-carbon-20bs-20bt/20bs/downloads/driver-list/component?name=Networking%3A%20Wireless%20WAN

or from the page

https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-x-series-laptops/thinkpad-x230/downloads/DS103819

stumbled into a file size difference (1.8MB downloaded vs. 2.6MB mentioned on the download page) and the checksums mismatch.

Please kindly advise.

Thanks

This is STILL an issue for the X1 Carbon 3rd Gen, my 20BT machine has no functionality of any WAN/WWAN device, all drivers have the Code 56 Error: "Windows is still setting up the class configuration for this device" A Windows 8.1 installation on another partition works perfectly, so it's a Windows 10 driver issue, not a hardware issue. I've tried every "fix" on the internet to no avail. A clean install of Windows 10 fixes it temporarily, presumably due to an older build, but then Windows Update promptly lands you back where you started, by "updating" to drivers which don't work! very frustrating! Unfortunately due to this being a work machine, I am not allowed to turn off Windows 10 Update as I have with a personal machine, which by the way is not easy to do. Let's all hope we get a proper fix soon!
