i can confirm problem persists after reverting back to 1803 from 1809.

unfortunately, i ran into the same problem. no matter what i tried ( windows reinstall, drivers reinstall, firmware update) nothing worked.

so i went with the laptop to lenovo service and they replaced the card with a brand new.

ever since, all works even on 1809. good luck!

Ok i have downloaded the recovery image for my X1C Gen 6 and installed it

WWAN is nowhere to be found.

Looks like the card is toasted.... Any help from Lenovo before I ask them to replace it under warranty?

I have played around a bit and see to understand what might have happened.

The way the card designed require a reflash of specific part of FW every time you change network. You can fund the utility that is auto-ran in every connection to a new network here: \Windows\Firmware\FwUpdateService (or smth similar). When its run it asks for no restart or shutdown,  otherwise FW would be corrupted.

Now when I try to run it, it halts at 44% with no further progress. It looks like during the update it was failing, and now the card is bricked with half-baked firmware.

That's my guess though. Anyways, now I am waiting till the support would bring another card to replace mine.

It appears that during the upgrade process from 1803 to 1809 the fibocom firmware must've botched perhaps during the multiple restarts built into the upgrading process.

In any case - the FIbocom card was replaced and is working once more.

i.e. THE CARD NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.

Lenovo - might be worth fixing the firmware/driver process so this doesn't break a whole truckload of Fibocom L850-GLs in the field during the rollout process!

I can confirm that it isworking again after replacing the card.

I'm not sure, if 1809 killed the card. Some days before i installed updates (not sure either windows or lenovo updates) and i saw an (automatic) reboot while the firmware update of the wwan card was running. But i did not use the card between that update and 1809 update.
