Warranty Claim that is unresolved

2008-02-29, 15:51 PM
Received my Thinkpad X61 & Ultrabase at the beginning of December.   It was order #9FL01K.   The thinkpad works fine as a standalone but as as soon as I plug into the ultrabase and attach an external monitor it gives poor and sometimes unusable output to the monitor.   (The monitor has been tested with other pcs and does fine.   The thinkpad can be connected directly to the monitor and does great.   Just won't work with the Ultrabase in the middle.)    So I contacted Lenovo and was promptly shipped a new Ultrabase.   Same problem with the replacement.   We've now decided it must be something with the board in the computer and not the Ultrabase.   I've contacted a "local" service provider and they've placed an order for the board and have given me the claim #.  However it's been weeks and the part remains "back ordered".   They say they've never seen a replacement part for a claim on a new machine take so long, and are baffled.   I had a customer satisfaction contact at Lenovo and have called and emailed him, without response.   If I had my way, I'd ship the whole thing back for good as this is 3 months i've had this "brand new" machine that has yet to work.   Can anyone give me any suggestions on how to make some progress?   Can't say I'd ever order another Lenovo again, this has been horrible.
Would GREATLY appreciate any help - Thanks!

Thanks Mark,
If you need the claim # my local provider gave me, it's EW027FB4.
Anything you can find out is much appreciated.

Mark,
Didn't hear back from you yesterday afternoon or today.   Can you please update me on the status of this back ordered part?
