Hello, So, I'm trying to get Skype to work on my x120e laptop, and I get the message:
"Your webcam isn't supported by Skype. Try updating your drivers or change to a Skype certified webcam"
And I can't use it.
Bits of info: The webcam -does- function. I use it within the Lenovo communications utility and I can see myself and take pictures. I just can't get Skype(or anything else that can go online as far as I can tell) to recognize it.
Second, I went into the device manager and tried to update the drivers automatically, and was told that they already were up to date. The driver is Silicon Motion inc, version 184.108.40.206.
Other bits of info: Running Windows 7 starter. Not a used computer, bought new(about a year ago). I'd noticed some difficulty with the webcam before, but didn't pursue it.
Thanks for all help

Welcome to the support forums! lets verify a couple of things. Do you have Microsofts latest service packs and updates, I know Skype needs DirectX. You can get the latest version of DirectX for Windows 7 by updating Windows with the latest service packs and updates.
If your computer came with Skype preloaded verify that you have the latest version. I've seen people get this error and updating to the latest fixed it.
