Hello,

I believe the ExpressCache software utilizes the 16GB M.2 SSD.  The Windows 10 version can be downloaded from:  https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds104444

Thanks you for the information, will upgrading to Windows 10 version even if currently still running on Win 8.1 improves cache performance regardless? Can 16GB SSD M.2 be replaced with larger capacity like 32GB, 64GB or 128GB? I had read PCI Express 2 is supported on Intel Broadwell-U PCH-LP (Premium) motherboard, but is this has been made obsolate by PCIe 3? Thx.

Hello,

On my ThinkPad X250 I installed a ZTC 512GB M2.2240 SATA SSD and then installed Windows 10 to it, however, a lower capacity SSD can also be used (I'd suggest 128GB or 256GB so you don't run out of space) and Windows 8.1 loaded as well.

Thx Sir, in addition to still using the M.2 SSD 16GB with OEM files. I removed it from the M.2 slot & used an external adapter & connected it by USB port & in it's old place installed a Sierra 4G LTE card, as this wasn't enough  I upgraded the 1TB HDD to M.2 SSD 256GB drive & now bootup time is 10 sec & shut down only 4 sec. Which I think was insane speed I 've ever experienced on a Laptop, unfortunately I will never know how mind blowing an NVMe PCIe M.2 can achieve because of the limitation my PC's AHCI, cheers.
