What's the deal with Airplane mode pretending to be on?

We have multiple Windows 10 Thinkpad X1 Yogas that have wireless connectivity issues (commented on https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-X-Series-Laptops/X1-Carbon-and-Sierra-EM7345-problem-with-Mobi...), but this post is related to Airplane mode.

Our devices show Airplane mode as "ON" in the Windows 10 Action Center, but "OFF" in the Windows 10 Network and Internet Settings. Wireless and Cellular will continue to work, but the Airplane mode button is still blue (please see the attached screenshot).

We've updated our Wireless drivers and this issue still exists, what is going on here?

Re: What's the deal with Airplane mode pretending to be on?

AE_Support,

Thank you for sharing your experience regarding opposing Airplane Mode settings in the Windows 10 Action Center and Windows 10 Network and Internet settings.

This is a known limitation of Windows 10 Threshold 2 v1511, and was resolved in Windows 10 Redstone 1 released by Microsoft in August.

Thank you,
