Which X series for me?

Long time Lenovo user. I love my X230T but it's time to upgrade. I love the durability and the touchscreen and how it swivels, the size is perfect too. I hardly use the pen/stylus but I like the option of having one. I don't know which one is better for my needs, the X1 Carbon, the X1 Yoga, or perhaps something else? I use my laptop all the time primarily as a home computer and use it for everthing, watching movies, shopping, listening to music, academic research, writing, etc. I prefer 13 to 14 inch screen. I'm not a gamer.  Any suggestions? I don't know how much life my X230T has left so i need a new one pretty bad!

Re: Which X series for me?

I have used an X230t and I'm typing this response on an X1 Yoga.  If you want 13-14 inches with touch and you like the idea of a pen, the X1 yoga is perfect.  It can flip into a tablet and supports touch and pen.  It has a larger screen than your old machine, but the package is lighter. One difference is that your machine had 2 memory slots and the x1 yoga has soldered memory, so buy a machine configured as you need it; don't plan on upgrading.

Re: Which X series for me?

Yes, I'm leaning towards the X1 Yoga but the size of the X380 Yoga appeals to me more. It's probably because i'm used to the X230T's screen size. Decisions, decisions, X1 or X380?

Re: Which X series for me?

I never used x380.  I did use a yoga 260 which is a similar design.  Size-wise, the x380 is in the middle.  I like the higher resolution I have on the x1 yoga, but that is personal preference.  Both are nice machines.  I wrote reviews of the yoga 260 and the x1 yoga.  Both are somewhere on this site.  The x1 was 2 generations newer so a comparison is unfair.

Re: Which X series for me?

Okay, I think I'll either get the X1 Yoga or the X380 Yoga. The X380 might be a better fit for me but I'm finding compliants that is has a tendency to heat up and fan runs a lot. Sure, the X1 has higher resolution and better display, but any device from a couple of years ago would have a better display than my X230T. The X1 would be a good fit too but it is rather expensive.
