I'm thinking of buying an X1 Extream in the near to meduim future and was wonderning if there are any plans to update the specs of the machine to include options for the recently annouced 9th gen 'H' CPU from Intel and Nvida RTX GPU options?
I like the look of the X1 Extream but I may well choose an alternative brand if the above specs become available in the next three months or so...
Does anyone have any ideas on when the specs are likely to next be updated on the X1 Extream?

As for the X1 Extreme running on Intel 9th Generation, yes there's a plan to roll that out but no word yet for the RTX GPUs. Please see more info on this article: https://news.lenovo.com/pressroom/press-releases/work-hard-play-harder-with-lenovos-new-thinkpad-x1-...

9th Gen CPUs?
Yes, the new ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 2 will have 9th generation, hex core CPUs. They are also planning to release models with an i9 octo core CPU.
No unfortunately. The ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 2 will not have RTX GPUs. Instead, they will come with GTX 1650 MaxQ.
These Gen 2 laptops will be released sometime in July, according to a video posted by Windows Central. If you search up "ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 2", you will find videos showing its new features.
