X Series. Dock Station and ultrabay dvd-rom compatibility

2011-07-25, 16:18 PM

I have an x61s (windows xp) with dock station and I'm planning to buy an x201/220.

1.-Please: Where can i see which one is my ultrabay dvd-rom model?. Just to check if it is compatible with x201 Dock station.

2.- Following the new website organization i'm not able to discover which X201 / x201s / x220 model is better for me!. Any help?. Money is not an issue.

 Thanks. A

1. Your X61s Ultrabase X6 drive are not compatible with the latter X200/X201 X200 ultrabase nor X220 Ultrabase series 3, the latter two uses SATA connector as opposed to the PATA connector on the X6 ultrabase.

2. what do you want to use it for?

-X220 can be optioned with IPS LCD.
-run cooler than the X201.
-have displayport on the machine itself.
-24 hrs of battery when used with the battery slice.

While X201 is the last of 16:10 model LCD, but they also run hotter than the X220.
