Re: X Series Laptops Shipping discussion (2012)

I don't care about shortages. They had more than a month to ship orders which were ordered during the first days. Somehow, they shipped laptops to people who ordered later. I ordered on 14th because I need laptop, and it seems that I might not get it in the end. I got Nexus 7 in 2 days! iPad in an hour. My friend drove a car from a dealership in an hour.

Ethernet dongle excuse is so naive, it takes probably a few hours to fix orders, I can't imagine it requires human to do it. Like everybody else I told them that I don't care about ethernet dongle. We have been probably mocked all the time, not knowing what is going on. Yesterday I was told that orders are ready, BUT they need to check them again, why? Another excuse? Since I had been told that on 16th etherned dongle crysis was solved. What kind of shortage there can be? They have the orders ready, only the dongle was missing. Did they send those laptops to other people?

Have you ever heard from websale? They send pre-programmed messages and in most cases they don't answer (probably when email is too complicated they can't generate a response). People from webchat/phone have no idea what is going on and press F1-F12, again pre-programmed messages, anyway they don't have any power and any motivation to help you or understand you.

What is more funny, they have no more information than everybody else who uses Order Detail page.

Of course they told me that it can ship earlier, but they told me the same thing a few times before, and it was always a lie.

Btw, they were eager to ship DVD burner, sleeve and extra trackpoint caps. I wonder what I will do with them since it is hard to get X1 Carbon in Europe.

It is not harder to get the X1C in Europe than it is to get it in the USA - just order it it from your country's Lenovo website?

There is no shop in Polish Lenovo website. How long will I end up waiting? Another 2 months. Will it be December.

From what I can tell, those getting the orders sooner than those of us who ordered earlier are ones who didn't get the same configuration like the i5 8GB, w/ 256 GB SSD, I haven't really seen anyone with that config. A few with the 128 GB SSD, but not the 256 GB.

Least that's my theory. Though my rep keeps assuring me, that no one is getting their X1 Carbons who ordered later than me.... Yeah sure... The whole internet is lying... oh wait.

I have a few ideas:

- creating website dontbuylenovo.com or lenovomad.com for documenting all X1 Carbon problems, and the way I and other people were treated

- destroying accessoris, since I don't have use for them now, and uploading video on youtube, maybe other people would do the same :)

- buying MacBook Pro Retina or ThinkPad T60p (since it is an IBM)

Anyone else has an idea what can be done? It is good to release anger.

The Polish website lists plenty of resellers & distributors though - just order through them?

/edit: here for example: http://www.kuzniewski.pl/k1193,lenovo-ibm-thinkpad-thinkpad-x-thinkpad-x1-carbon.html

/edit 2: Just received my tracking number ahead of schedule (was told it would be shipped on the 24th). So for me:
ordered i5/8GB/256 30th August (ethernet dongle was already not available), expected shipping within 1-2 weeks according to the UK website, was told after two weeks it would ship 24th September due to production delay - so I'm pretty happy overall.

Those resellers don't have a version I want. I could buy i7/4GB/256GB weeks ago from one of the resellers in the USA, however it is not version I want, and I was always told that my order is almost ready.

It is just great, I ordered on 14th and I still haven't received any information from Lenovo.

Edit, someone who ordered i5/8GB/256GB on Sep 11th, got shipping notification, great!

I ordered 8/27 and my order has  been delayed several times, cancelled by lenovo (although it was not cancelled), non-existant on my order status, re-entered to my status as received and just today shows it is in production with an expected ship date of yesterday LOL.

I've ordered the i5,8gb,256  . . the encouraging thing is some of those are now shipping.

I think it all must be sorting out and we will all soon get the computer.
