Re: X Series Laptops Shipping discussion (2012)

I realise that most folks are looking forward to the X1 Carbons, but thought I'd still follow up on my shipping experience for the X230 CTO; I placed the order on the 08/19, and got my machine delivered just today; (the last day of the "on-schedule" delivery deadline); Here's the UPS tracking sequence for Toronto, ON, if it helps anyone!

So far, I'm really loving the size (and weight) of the machine... Ordered the 9-cell battery, and from what I've seen with the X220, I won't regret it an ounce!

Re: X Series Laptops Shipping discussion (2012)

Lenovo keeps pinging my credit card too. I ordered it on 8/20 and they "authorized" $1,517.02 - totally understandable. But yesterday they re-authorized the same amount - and the status is still "released to manufacturing" with an ETA of 9/20. Strange.....

Re: X Series Laptops Shipping discussion (2012)

Was the X1 Carbon, seriously delayed because of the USB 2.0 Ethernet Dongle Adapter? If so... Couldn't Lenovo have just shipped the Carbon now and the Dongle later, rather than make some of us wait a whole month to get our Laptops. Making matters even worse is that some of the laptops were ordered for the school season starting, and having them delayed to mid-september could be a deal breaker for some.

If it meant my X1 carbon would ship today, I'd gladly wait on the dongle.

Re: X Series Laptops Shipping discussion (2012)

Does anyone know if Lenovo responds to the websales@lenovo.com email address? My X1 Carbon was scheduled to ship on 8/28. Of course it never shipped and a day later the status reverted to "Order Received" with no ship date. My emails for clarification have been ignored.

Re: X Series Laptops Shipping discussion (2012)

Hello,

I ordered my X1 Carbon on 26 August, but have no indication of estimated ship date etc. The order status is still "Order in Process" -- any idea how long before I can get an estimate? Surely should have one by now.. thanks.

Re: X Series Laptops Shipping discussion (2012)

Is it weird that my order now says status "Order Received"  and all of the totals have zeroed out?

Re: X Series Laptops Shipping discussion (2012)

After ordering the X1 Carbon last week, this has been the worst experience with ANY computer company to date. First, the web page continually fails to load for me while configuring it, when I try to call the line to order by phone, I continually get disconnected. I finally placed an order online and I check it today, and see an invalid config error, and see that it was cancelled. I had used a RedFlag Deals coupon code to save 24% on this computer, and that code expired on 8/31. IF I have to place this order again, I will not be able to use this coupon code, and will not be able to afford this computer. VERY FRUSTRATED with this supposedly good company. Shame, this X1 looked like a really nice ultrabook.

I had heard good things about Lenovo support and customer service, and now I am strongly considering cancelling the order and going elsewhere (Dell) to get something decent with decent service, and Dell's service is pretty bad, so the fact that I'm considering going there for an "improvement" should say something.

To make matters worse, I tried to call earlier, and the automated phone system is so messed up, it will not let me select one of the options, as soon as the recording is finished with the 7 options, I get disconnected.

Buying what appears to be the best ultrabook should NOT be this frustrating.

X1 Carbon i5 - yet another delay in shipping my August 17 purchase until September 16 :-(

I ordered my i5 with 8GB RAM and 256 SSD on August 17. Shipping date was originally forecast to be August 23. Then it was later pushed back to August 27 (no e-mail notification). August 27 came and went (no e-mail) and on the 19th the link says the forecast ship date was August 31.

This morning, it says the forecast shipping date is September 16 for delivery on the 23!

So there is a 3+ week delay in shipping and Lenovo can't be bothered to even send me an e-mail let alone some coupon? This is terrible customer service and I am thinking about cancelling. No doubt Lenovo will try to slap me with a 15% recharging fee.

As a long time Thinkpad customer (I've had 8), this just sucks.

Re: X1 Carbon i5 - yet another delay in shipping my August 17 purchase until September 16 :-(

At least you have an updated estimated ship date. In my case, the ship date came and went with no notification. Two days later the estimated ship date simply went blank (and remains blank).

Lame.
