effort to fulfill your order.
So I this this e-mail this morning.. yet my ship date hasn't changed. At this point I have no faith in this process.

Really disappointed with Lenovo. I order my X230 on 10/05, and it`s delivery date is 10/20 at very begining. And after that, the delivery date has been delay to 10/24, 11/01. When I check the order status today, the new delivery date is 11/07. If lenovo delay my order again, I will cancel it. I have order HP and DELL before, both are much better than Lenovo. HP even refund me 200 dollars for delay on week... Dell ship my order before the expected shipping date.

I ordered a custom X230 on 11/21 and during order placement, the page said estimated ship date 12/1.
A few days later, the estimated ship date got moved to 12/2. One extra day, no big deal, I thought.
Well, I checked again yesterday, and finally my order has changed status to "Released to Manufacturing" after it was in "Order Processing" for several days. But the shipping date has now changed to 12/31 with expected arrival date of 1/8 .... 2014!!
How does Lenovo expect to keep a happy customer base if one gets their laptop almost 7 weeks after they place their order? It almost seems like a bait and switch because yesterday on the Lenovo website for the exact same custom laptop, they were still saying estimated ship date of 12/13.
Not only does the customer feel a sense of bait-and-switch, they are now in a situation where they may have needed a computer earlier or had some other time restrictions. Very disappointing.

You are lucky. I just talked with support, and they cancelled my order, because they do not manufacture the x230 any longer.
My order were placed 11-11, and yesterday I made a support request about the long delivery time.

Please notice that I ordered from Europe.
The status for my order is 'Bestilling under udfoersel', which roughly translates to: 'Order/booking in progress'.
And from my localized view of the lenovo.com page, the x230 is only sold from resellers at this point in time (not so when I ordered).

Thanks lonal for the update! I think I will email Lenovo order support to see what's up. If they are not stopping production for the US, I will continue to wait, since I think I like the x230 over the x240.

Lenovo shows the X230 as "temporarily unavailable" on their website http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/thinkpad/x-series/x230/. Anyone know what's going on? I ordered one on 11/23 and the ship date keeps being delayed (it's now 1/1/14). If they are showing them as unavailable it makes me worry about many more delays. More importantly, are their component problems I should worry about?
