X1 7th Gen: Overheating/fan being loud

2020-07-14, 15:03 PM

Hi Lenovo Forum,

my Lenovo X1 7th Gen is currently very hot and the fan is constantly running.

I have already done the following and unfortunately did not help:

- Updated all drivers (Lenovo System Update and manually updated)

- PowerOptions: Every setting there is, gone through & executed.

- PowerOptions: PowerPlan reset

- Troubleshooting Settings -> Power

- Superfetch/Sysmain under Services and in the Task Manager stopped and disabled

- Windows Search deactivated

- Windows Updates

- Lenovo Diagnostics Tool

- disk cleanup

- started Cmd as Admin and executed the following commands

- DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth

- DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

- DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

- sfc /scannow

- chkdsk /f /r

Do you have any ideas what I could do? I can't work like this.

Thanks!

Hi Dranovac

68 degrees is really low. My laptops have a temperature of 80-91 degrees
