X1 Carbon 2015: Backlit keyboard not lighting

Hi,

I seem to be having an issue with the backlit keyboard where it doesn't light on my new 2015 X1 Carbon. There's no lighting upon startup and nothing is wrong with my 'Fn' key.

Anyone have any idea what's going on?

Re: X1 Carbon 2015: Backlit keyboard not lighting

hello, I don't think it comes on automatically. ( I WISH IT DID ) I've been seeking a way to have it stay on all the time.

"Function Key" + "Spacebar" turns it on, brightness level 1, level 2, then off.

If someone knows how to keep it on or have it respond to ambient light please post it!

Re: X1 Carbon 2015: Backlit keyboard not lighting

Hi dvfx,

I've found a pretty cool solution for the backlit keyboard of my ThinkPad X1 Carbon 5th SN# 20HRCTO1WW with Lenovo Vantage App on Win10. Please visit the thread here with the solution https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-P-and-W-Series-Mobile/can-i-configure-backlit-keyboard-on-a-P5....

With this autohotkey script of ligius (https://github.com/ligius-/lenovo-backlight-control) the backlight turns off automatically when no keyboard input is generated, auto startup included.
