Re: X1 Carbon (20AX series) wifi connectivity issues

Hi Tassilo, I had the same problem with connecting to my iPhone 5s. I followed the advice at a Lenovo Yoga post (see the post at 03-05-2014 11:45 AM).

This worked for me.

Thinkpad P1 (Model 20MDCTO1WWW Tx) - Windows 10 x64 Pro - Intel Xeon E-2176M vPro Processor, Nvidia P2000 4Gb, 64GB DDR4 2666 SODIMM
Thinkpad X1 Carbon (Model 20FB)

Re: X1 Carbon (20AX series) wifi connectivity issues

Try setting the power settings to max performance for the card on battery and external power.  This fixed my problem

CONTROL PANEL,   Power Options, Edit Plansettings, CChange advanced settings,  Wireless settings - set max power for both power and battery.

Re: X1 Carbon (20AX series) wifi connectivity issues

20A7  Having frequent "Limited Connection" Was killing whole wifi network on old netgear router.. Got a new Asus RT-AC66R router (awesome router btw) now my computer only gets limited connection Win 8.1 wireless trouble shooter disables reconnects but ever 4-30 minutes gets old paid over 1800 for computer Lenovo i expect more from your flagship computer.. Not sure if it is an Intel problem or Lenovo but my computer says Lenovo so its your problem in my eyes.

My trouble shooting so far has been:

Device manager Intel 7260 properties - Power Management -  unchecked allow computer to turn this device off

Also changed
(cuss a few times) finally find control panel - Power Settings - Balanced  - Change Advanced settings Wireless adapter settings - Power Savings mode - Max Performance for both.

Everything i see online is saying power issues.. I am about to go and buy a USB AC wifi adapter.. (this would limit the problems to the Intel card in my book..

Re: X1 Carbon (20AX series) wifi connectivity issues

New Drivers 17.0.2 are available for download, the notes mention that "Fixed an issue where the wireless connection dropped"

Re: X1 Carbon (20AX series) wifi connectivity issues

I'm on the latest drivers from Lenovo 17.0.2.5, and I'm still getting Limited Connectivity. Sometimes it happens immediately after connecting, sometimes 30 minutes after.

I've changed the energy settings to Maximum Performance for the WIFI adapter.

I'm about to wipe the SSD and install Arch Linux, I'll report back if I have the same issues under Linux.

Re: X1 Carbon (20AX series) wifi connectivity issues

This worked like a champ for my X1 Carbon 20A8 and fixed my tethering issue with my 3G iPhone4.

Re: X1 Carbon (20AX series) wifi connectivity issues

...that is to say changing the wireless power settings to Maximum Performance as described in the Yoga link above.

Re: X1 Carbon (20AX series) wifi connectivity issues

easiest less time consuming would be to do the following.

right click in my computer
click on properties
click on device manager
right click network / Wifi adapter
chose uninstall.
restart pc
(problem solved) It will auto reinstall at boot.

Re: X1 Carbon (20AX series) wifi connectivity issues

I have had my Lenovo since March 2014 and have the same issues connecting to many WAPs, and especially those with open access. I believe it is an issue with the new AC radio (perhaps trying to steer towards another WAP). I wish now that I had opted for the MAC instead of this hardware, the adaptive function keyboard and radio make it very buggy. Any ideas outside of what is listed above are welcome. I have changed the power settings and installed the latest drivers.
