Re: X1 Carbon 20BS Sierra Wireless EM7345 can't use China Telecom SIM Card

MakerHe,

China Unicom operates in the B3, B40 and B41 LTE frequency bands depending on the area, while China Telecom - in the B40, B41 LTE bands and the new networks have started to work in July in the B1 and B3 bands, again, depending on the area.

EM7345 supports B1-5, B7, B8, B13, B17-B20 FDD-LTE bands only. So, most likely, issue with China Telecom's LTE service is caused by B1 or B3 bands missing at your location presently.

Does the name "Cellular" relate to the China Telecom operator? Is there APN settings indothai mentioned above?

Just my 2cents, but have you tried putting the SIM in a regular handphone/cell phone?  Sometimes, some carriers may require you to "activate" the SIM.  You may also need to put in APN, etc information in the "Advanced Options".

Thanks to x220forme,

China Telecom change a new SIM card, and I can use LTE network now.

Two SIM cards have one different as below.

The old one's home provider ID is 20404, it is signal 0%.

The new one's home provider ID is 46011, it is OK.

The question is why China Telecom's sim card have vodafone's provider ID. Does it allowed?

MCC/MNC code 204/04 belongs Vodafone network in Netherlands. In the past Vodafone had a shareholding in the China Mobile, operators continue coopration, probably it's related somehow you have the sim card with Vodafone's MCC/MNC.

Thanks.

4G LTE is OK, but unable to send and receive SMS.

Everyone who be in China or plan to go to China, you'd better not use China Telecom, use China Unicom.
