X1 Carbon 3443CTO problems

2013-04-12, 14:06 PM

We purchased the x1 carbon 3443CTO model. Our company has windows 8 enterprise volume license so i removed all partitions (but left the recovery media). after i installed windows, ran the lenovo system update tool to make sure i have all the latest drivers i have two problems.

1. i still have an unknown device showing in device manager, and system update is not detecting any drivers that need to be installed.

2. i am trying to enable the touch feature on this laptop but i dont see the option anywhere. i have looked in control panel>and i dont have the pen touch menu option appearing anywhere. i called support and they said i need to copy some files from the SW2 folder. i asked isnt there a piece of software or something to download and install and he said no you need that folder from the original lenovo image. i said i dont have that, which he replied then you cant fix it. i find that absolutely impossible which is why i am here.

Can anyone assist in resolving these two issues? How can i enable the touch feature? the laptop came with windows 7 on it originally.  and two how can i go about locating the driver for this mysterious unknown device?

Had the same issue.  Ended up being the "optional" tab on their support updating application.  Apply everything recommended.

Sorry don't have the machine in front of me now for specifics.

It's probably INT33A0 for some reason system update is not seeing it under Win8 but does under Win7.

You have to manually download and install.

File is called g6ri06ww.exe

We got a few of the touch models, and they are basically never used that way.  Probably wise not to have gotten them.
