X1 Carbon 3rd Gen WWAN Card

2016-07-16, 19:56 PM

Can anyone say if I purchased the Sierra em7345 card for my x1 Carbon, which carrier (in USA) will I have to get a service plan with? Can It work with any carrier?

Hello

It's simpler to answer about carrier and access mode (LTE, 3g) you prefer as this modem supports dozen of the US operators as well doesn't support a big part of them, including market leaders like Sprint, or supports partially (i.e.not every frequency band the carrier operates in). Also, not every operator's network covers entire US area.

My main purpose would be to check a few emails when on the go. 3g should be fine. Sprint has good coverage in my area so i would prefer spint.

AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon etc. are being supported by em7345 (depending on the area). Their LTE networks operate in the B2, B4 frequency bands modem supports. Modem doesn't support CDMA/EV-DO networks, UMTS/HSPA+ does.
