I have a ThinkPad X1 4th generation. It is model number 20FB and it is running BIOS v1.24. I have applied all the patches currrently availably in System Update. It's running Window 10 Enterprise.
The laptop is configured go to sleep once the lid is closed. Over the past while I have noticed that regularly the when I open the lid the laptop doesn't wake up and the screen is blank. When this happens the power light remains on and other keyboard lights such as on CapsLock or Esc key are also on.
Ocassionally if I open and close the lid several times the laptop will come back to life but usually the only way I can recover is to power down the laptop.
Does anyone else have this issue?.

What version of Windows are you using?
We have X1C4 (Gen 4 circa 2016) which is fine, Windows 7 Pro 64-bit maching waking up properly when lid is opened.
Our X1C4 is fully patched for Windows Update.

One other possible option is that I have started using a Yubikey Nano (https://www.yubico.com/product/yk4nano/) which remains plugged into one of the USB ports. Could this keep causing the problems?

For X1 Carbon unable to resume from sleep, there is a related forum posting over here:
(So far no solution to this problem unfortunately...)
