X1 Carbon 5th Gen Fingerprint scanner after Windows 10 Update to 1709

2017-10-24, 10:37 AM

Since the update to Windows 10 1709 (Fall Creator's update) my fingerprint scanner & Windows Hello doesn't work anymore.

I own a Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon 5th Gen (20K3).
In the device manager the fingerprint reader seems to have an issue... And Windows Hello doesn't recognize the device anymore. I already tried to enable SGX in BIOS - but that didn't change much...
Thank you for your help -

Solved it by going to the device manager, deleting the device (Synaptics WBDI) including drivers... Then rebooted and then the device was recognized in the Windows Hello settings again :)

This helped me too
