X1 Carbon 5th Gen Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265 Not Working in 5G

2017-12-21, 5:12 AM

I have a X1 Carbon 5th Gen with built-in AC 8265. It can not connect to the 5G band. My other devices, like iPhone and Chromecast work just fine in 5G band. X1 can find the SSID for 5G, but can not link to it.

I updated the driver to 20.10.2.2, also confirmed the setting for properties. Still it does not work. Is there any setting I missed? Please help.

802.11n Channel Width for 5.2GHz      Auto (AP determines width)
Roaming Aggressiveness                        Medium
Throughput Booster                                Disabled
Transmit Power                                        Highest
Wireless Mode                                          802.11a/b/g
HT Mode                                                    VHT Mode

Thanks

The problem solved! I deleted the 8265 driver completely from device manager, then reinstalled the latest one. Now I can either connect to 2.4 GHZ and 5 GHZ.
