Re: X1 Carbon 6th Gen Battery drain in sleep

derek1284 great work!! I have been wondering if the port was possible or not, but wanted to wait still for a Lenovo oficial fix.

How could it be that the end users has to be involved in fixing this, more than the actual vendor ...

I guess I should wait for the promised solution by Andy, since is the any oficial statement yet recieved.

This is ridiculous. everyone here was waiting for this update, launching System Update once a day, and actual fix fixed nothing...

Dear Admin

Please, everyone here is waiting for the responce. Any chances we will get information from Lenovo, on what to do, or should we wait for something?

Maybe no reponse from the admins bc they are probably too focused on promoting their new products, like the X1 Extreme. They should prioritze their loyal customers like us who already bought the product and to help us fix this issue.  Then afterwards, they should be releasing new products. At this rate, it seems like we will be having new family members join this topic once the x1 extreme is out

I've got the exact same situation here with my x1y3. I just want to state my concern that this notebook is not really usable due to the energy problems...

Re: X1 Carbon 6th Gen Battery drain in sleep

a new bios version (1.30) is out with a new option "Sleep State" which can be switched to Linux.

There is a special warning "Windows 10 (R) must be used with Windows 10 setting only".

Nevertheless, i am using a dual boot setup and i just enabled this setting -> full working good old s3 support under linux. Thanks a lot for that!

Under windows suspend/resume also seems to be working fine and i didn't encounter any side effects. Where can i lookup under windows if s3 or modern standby is used?

Since i have a dual boot setup and i am starting windows using the grub boot loader -> the side effects could be handled by grub and do not occur.

Please be careful and make a backup, since there is no info about the side effects.

This helped me too

It's little bit too early to say if everything is good, but it seems that S3 is back with the cmd powercfg /a

I switched the Sleep setting to "Linux" in the BIOS and I'm running Windows 10 straight.

Oh yeah, Lenovo, you did it!!!

S3 is back if you switch to Linux. Si03 is disabled. Thanks everyone! Up to now no drawbacks for me.  By the way: no Windows reinstall, not even a change in the registry was neccesary! :smileywink:

If you don't see the update, you may update it manually (Make sure that your machine type belongs to one of two below).
