Rolling the driver back to the previous version is the correct workaround. Lenovo and Intel are working on this problem.

I have been running 18.104.22.168 for several months and have not experienced any more issues (since my original issues in February), dated 2019-05-12.
Intel Dual Band Wireless AC 8265
I picked it up from here:

Go to @maniacmark’s link to the Intel website and download the previous version (under “Other Versions”).

22.214.171.124 works for me and i got it from using device properties, install driver, let me choose, choose from list already available (or something like that). I wish this method let you see the versions in the list but it doesn't. You have to guess and check until you get the right one from the list available .

Hi, I tried to upgrade driver to 21.20.0 - no joy, the installation icon just pops up and then nothing happens.
And there is no option to download any driver version earlier than I'm already running (126.96.36.199), there is just no such option on the Intel's website

Did you try the method i noted?
Device Mgr, Network Adapter Propertues, Update Driver, Browse My Computer, Let me pick from list.
You'd need to guess and trial and error to find the x.3.3 version.
