X1 Carbon 6th gen: Touch screen sometimes does not work

At regular times, the touch screen does not responds to touches anymore. At the same time, my Bluetooth connected mouse does not work. After about 30 secs, both work again.

Is there a fix available?

Same problem as well.  Quite irritating indeed.  Since this is a major UI issue, I don't understand why Lenovo does not even acknowledge it. Pity.

Lenovo X1 carbon 6th Gen - touch screen periodically stops working

I have a new X1 carbon 6th gen with a touch screen that every few days stops responding to input. I have to disable the 'HID-compliant touch screen' device and re-enable it to get it to function again.

 

I have all the latest updates and BIOS upgrades. 

 

Is this a known issue with the device driver or is it a possible defective unit?

I notice the touch screen itself is not nearly as "fluid" as my T440s and does not really respond to "flick" events in the same way. It's not nearly as pleasant to use as my old T440s was.

 

Can anyone else confirm this behaviour or should I send it in to be looked at?

I guess Lenovo is ignoring the problem. I may return it given they refuse to answer for the defective product.

I also have this problem with the defective touch screen. Are Lenovo issuing refunds for the defective product?

Would you please help to provide some information:

1,Unit SN (it can be seen on the back of the computer, the 8-digits serial number starting from “PF")

2,BIOS

3,ECFW

4,MEFW

(start your machine and press F1 immediately,2-3 can be seen in the BIOS interface)

Given that this issue has been around for over a year I assume Lenovo doesn't actually have a fix and there is no point sending it in for repair.

 

Can we expect a response when the issue is identified? If the issue can't be resolved within the warranty time what course of action do we have given that we essentially have a defective product?
