Just bought an X1C 6th gen. This is a very expensive laptop - over $1000. I expected half decent speakers, but they were the worst out of all the laptops I've ever had. The sound is tinny and weak. Bass is terrible. I don't even listen to music, but watching a presentation video, the speakers' voice sound very poor.
This is a subjective opinion. I've compared the X1C side-by-side on the same YouTube video with the following laptops, with two colleagues next to me. We all agreed that the X1 Carbon has the worst speakers:
This isn't just our opinion either. Do a Google search for "X1C speakers"...
I could go on an on. Lenovo has the tech for better speakers, in the cheaper Yoga. Why not use that in the X1C?

They listened to the reviews, because the press release for the 2019 X1 Carbon 7th gen states
"A Dolby Atmos™ Speaker System featuring two top-firing tweeters and two down-firing woofers deliver a more realistic and immersive sound worthy of a premium laptop."
Better late than never.

well too bad, the 7th gen carbon has speakers above the keyboard and sub woofers where the 6th gen has the speakers. So you can't just sway the 7th gen speakers into a 6th gen carbon.
