I've got a new X1 Carbon 6th gen running Windows 10 1803. Everything is perfect except for the touchpad. The touchpad is sluggish and laggy. The cursor on the screen moves smoothly but lags behind my finger movement by about 0.5 seconds. I have set the cursor speed to the fastest and set the touch sensititivy to "most sensitive" but it's not working.
At the time of writing this post, I'm runnning the latest drivers directly from the lenovo website and I have updated the firmware for the touchpad and I have also updated to the latest BIOS as well. I updated to the latest Intel Serial IO Driver from Lenovo's website and that hasn't done anything.
I know this is a Windows 10 issue because booting into safe mode gets rid of the lag/sluggish cursor speed.

So I just downgraded to Windows 10 1607 and the lag is gone. The touchpad works beautifully now. I'm not sure if the issue is with Windows 10 1803 or lenovo's drivers.

I am having similar issues on x1e 4K 8850H 16GB
It seems the cpu spiked to 100% load whenever the touchpad lags out making me wonder is this a cpu issue and not a touchpad issue. Next time you see it let me know what the cpu is doing.
