I've just shared this in another thread. Stupid workaround for the 2 second lag issue: send the machine to sleep and revoke it while you constantly use the touchpad, then the lag is reproducibly gone for my machine.

It is incredible that this is now being discussed for months among users while Lenovo does not address this issue for their premium product apart from exchanging some hardware on warranty which obviously doesn't help.

For me   removing the ELAN trackpoint driver didn't remove the lag , there's no difference.

This is more FW problem than driver,  that 250ms response time included in latest FW version is to blame .

Which issue are you referring to?

- lag on touchpad button once keyboard is used? - this indeed stays even after removing ELAN driver

- touchpad cursor lag? - this is gone for me once I removed ELAN driver

I have done drivers roll-back and so far so good for last 30 minutes.

ELAN driver is gone, and now there is 2x mouse driver

(UPDATE) - Touchpad still works OK, still issue with first click after typing (BTW anyone experience same problem?)

@EyJey45 So using the old firmware delays the touchpad response after using the keyboard and using the new firmware delays the touchpad response after the mouse click use?

I rly don't understand how Lenovo couldnt care less about this issue?! No it's not normal to have a premium laptop with such a bug! No the trackpoint buttons are not only intended to be used with the trackpoint.
There's more than 6 threads on this forum with a dozen of users facing the same issue and nothing from Lenovo !!

With ELAN drivers i was having both issues - not properly working cursor when using touchpad (1) and touchpad button not working with first click stright after using keyboard (2)

now with old driver - ELAN removed - issue (1) is gone, and issue (2) is still present

Well I think we (or me :) )  need the previous touchpad's firmware version 2949533  , if anybody knows where to find it ,  I did not .

.. and remove latest ELAN driver, but I didn't spot the difference using generic driver.

Update from me- I have recently noticed that ELAN driver is back automatically (I have rolled back to generic one some time ago) , but apparently touchpad was still working ok (no cursor lag) , and stopped working ok today - I have not clue that if this ELAN driver causes that or any other factor.

Issue with touchpad button lag is still present.
