X1 Carbon Not Detecting Corsair MP500

2017-07-14, 18:29 PM

Hi I purchased an MP500 M.2 NVMe PCIe gEN.3 X4 SSD and when I go to install Windows 7 (or 10) it doesn't see a hard drive listed. Is this SSD compatible with the X1? What am I missing?

Hello ans welcome to the forum

You haven't specified x1c generation #.
Only generations 4 or 5 support M.2 NVMe PCIe 3.0x4 SSDs. Is that one you have?

In case of the compatibility, for win7 you have to add NVME drivers to the ISO image. There are several methods to perform that, for example:

As for win10 I haven't clear solution if the laptop is gen 4 or 5. Probably standard NVME drivers win10 image has don't compatible with the drive or its firmware.
