X1 Carbon Thinkpad keyboard stopped working

2017-05-21, 21:21 PM

I am not sure if I am in the right forum, but this whole site is so difficult to navigate. There are no suppot numbers, and no-one to call. I am on a different computer now because my keyboard on my X1 Carbon Thinkpad has suddenly stopped working. I can get a keyboard to come up on the screen (and type in using external mouse) but none of the keys on the actual keypad work. None of the keys work. Some of the FN keys work. I have tried Ctrl + Alt + Del.

PPS I have found 'Keyboard Properties' and there are no devices showing in there under 'Device Properties'.

The computer is 2 years old, and the keyboard keys have stopped working all of a sudden when I turned the computer on.

Hi, which generation X1 Carbon do you have?

You can call 1-855-253-6686 or visit http://support.lenovo.com for other support contact options, if you'd like to repair the keyboard/ trackpad under Lenovo.

If you'd like to repair it yourself, I can help find the part number for the component you need.
