X1 Carbon (Type 20FB, 20FC) Laptop Display Driver

Hello,

We are installing Windows 7 Enterprise edition on our  X1 Carbon (Type 20FB, 20FC) Laptops.

Despite installing the VGA driver (several times), the display adapter on the device managers still shows (Standard VGA Graphics Adapter), because of that we are unable to connect an external monitor to those laptops.

Note: We are using USB3 Dock, and the drivers for the dock are installed!

Any idea for a solution?

Thanks

Welcome to the forum!

Have you tried downloading the Win7 drivers from the support page? (Source: click me!)

You will see drop down menus where you need to select the component and corresponding OS, something like this:

Hello, I've done that and downloaded the driver. It simply didn't work.
It installs, restarts the computer, but the device manager keeps showing Standard VGA Adapter.

Hi friend,

Welcome to Lenovo Community! And happy to have you here.

As I understand that you are facing issuewhile installing VGA driver in X1 Carbon

I'll suggest you to install drivers from Intel & install them forcefully from Device Manager.

I hope the above information helped you.

Please feel free to post in Lenovo Community Forums if you have any further queries!

Cheers,

Prabhansh

Thanks mate, this also didn't work.
It says, windows have successfully updated your driver software, Intel HD Graphics 520.
But Device manager is still showing Standard VGA Graphics Adapter!

Re: X1 Carbon (Type 20FB, 20FC) Laptop Display Driver

Hi mate,

Have you tried installing it manually from Device Manager?

You can use Intel® Driver Update Utility to see whether its catch your driver or not

Update us how it goes!

Cheers

Prabhansh
