Does it have IPS display or not ?

EDIT: No need to answer. According this review http://www.ubergizmo.com/2012/08/lenovo-x1-carbon-review/ it is TN panel again. Smiley Mad Moreover it seems as the display is typical Lenovo subaverage panel debacle because the reviewer has noticed that (quote from the review):

I’m not sure that most people would notice this, but I can see the sub-pixel pattern on the screen when looking at it from a bit less than a couple of feet. This means that when I’m looking at a color that should a “flat grey” for example, I’m seeing a bit of the structure that make up each pixel. That’s pretty unusual, and I was hoping for something better here. This reminds me of the pentile pattern that we sometime see on smartphones.

Lenovo did it again. Saving 20$ on display component ruined the idea to make it the MacBook killer. How many times will Lenovo repeat such mistake ?

Re: X1 Carbon embargo lifts tomorrow?

Is the X1C upgradeable to 8, 16 or even 32gigs of RAM?  Why on earth would they install usb 2.0 instead of Thunderbolt? USB 3.0 is nice but Thunderbolt is the way to go.

Re: X1 Carbon embargo lifts tomorrow?

From what I'm told, the RAM is not user upgradeable. Currently only the I5 is shipping with 8gb of ram. Supposedly in October or so the I7 will be shipping with 8gb of ram. I haven't heard anything about 16gb of ram.

Re: X1 Carbon embargo lifts tomorrow?

Oh no. Can this be right? Dual core can be 8 GB of ram, quad core only 4 GB? This puts the X1 out of contention for me. I run a unix variant and will need a VM of windows. Too much to fit in 4 GB of ram. Can someone confirm that 8 GB I7 systems  will be delivered  only in late fall time frame?
