Re: X1 Carbon on External Display

Hi everyone,

As most X1 Carbon users know, text size need to be Large or even Extra Large @200% (My X1C3 has QHD Display).

But as I plug an external display, text size becames really huge and I need to set it back to normal.

Is it possible to set text size at Extra Large on the laptop monitor and automatically changes to normal text size on external display (or remember such setting of my external display)?

Re: X1 Carbon on External Display

yes this is very annoying when you connect to your docking station you have to log on adjust the text size then log off and on again. Furthermore you might need to repeat the exercise because the scaling of the text associated with icons and pull down menus on IE can become vvvsmall, my usual fix for this is to revert to medium size text log off and on again change it back to small text the log off and on again (this is when connecting to the docking station) very frustrating. Surely you can have a situation where it is recognized that you are connected to the docking station and it applies a pre-arranged set of settings.

The pre-arranged settings, how is it done? Why are you not using it?? I really want to know as I'm seriously considering the pro dock

Oh ok I thought you were saying there is a way (from the last part of your first reply).
Sure yea I'll let you know if I find a way later.
Do you think the dock is worth it?

Re: X1 Carbon on External Display

The dock is worth it in my view as you can connect an external monitor etc very easily i.e. just by pulling out one cable as opposed to many.
