X1 Carbon with HDR display, cannot for the life of me change color profiles for external monitor

2018-10-28, 20:16 PM

I have a monitor attached via hdmi to an x1 carbon 6th gen with the HDR display. No matter what I try in windows color management, I cannot apply a color profile to the monitor. The only thing that changes the color is when I switch the color profile of the internal LCD using Lenovo Vantage (native, standard, photo pro, etc) and ONLY if the monitor is not connected. Once I plug the monitor in it will inherit the color profile of the internal LCD. Needless to say, none of the available profiles within Vantage are ideal for my monitor and all look ghastly oversaturated. I've tried uninstalling the Portrait Chromatune software. No affect. I've tried uninstalling Lenovo Vantage. Nothing. Tried reinstalling the Intel display drivers. Nothing. Can't apply any color profiles, not even the default WCS ones or any other. Tempted to nuke my windows install...
