Re: X1 Extreme Gen 2 missing keystrokes

2019-12-08, 15:49 PM

I was contacted yesterday by PM asking for more info. Please remember to send a PM to one of the Lenovo agents (see previous pages) with your system information.

I don't know for the rest, but in my case it is getting worse. Now I can see words missing even 2-3 letters in a row and the issue is happening more frequently than before. I really hope they come up with a solution soon because this is unbearable. I have to use an external keyboard to work.

I am starting to fear that this would require a motherboard replacement...

Too bad.

Hello,

Have the same issue here. X1G2, Nov 2019, Fedora Linux.

Hopefully, it will be fixed shortly, because in current state it is unusable.

Extremenly annoying, when working with SSH on slow lines, and you can not realize, if it's keystroke miss or slow connection...

Welcome onboard. This is growing quite big as more devices are rollin out and I think the end of the year is the peak of the sells. On the otherhand they promised to release some update in the next 7 days or something. Though it might only fix the brightness adjust bug as this keyboard problem might be on a hardware side.

Lenovo's progress is a bit slow. If you give me the source code and tools to debug, I believe I can confirm the root cause in a weekend.

I also have missing key strokes on my X1 Extreme Gen2 from late Oct. I'm running Manjaro Linux with current firmware. Mine isn't unusable, but can be annoying. The issue seems to be worse under Wayland sessions than on X11.

Well, you're right, may be not exactly unusable, but definitely not expected from 2k laptop. I expected my performance increased after MBPs 2017 horrible keyboard, but it decreased, because I need double check everything and fix typos all the time...

"Well, you're right, may be not exactly unusable, but definitely not expected from 2k laptop". Couldn't agree more. I think after spending $2-3K on a laptop, one would expect everything runs smoothly and if not that a prompt and efficient solution is provided by the company. This issue has been out for weeks and still no information or updates and of course no solution.
