Support have been reasonably helpful, they booked in a service call with replacement parts. Will update here once it gets serviced. 

 

I honestly doubt this is a hardware issue, but who knows maybe there is something to do with hardware as well.

Might be hardware without a doubt. I'm not a fan for sending the laptop to a depo to have random parts swapped if it don't fix the issue because it is sure that the laptop will not come back in better condition than what it were before the depo. There is a great chance to it have some scratches, marks on the paint, etc. Or worst case scenario they swap the whole unit to another.

Please all, if you can send tweets to Lenovo to scale up the problem. After 2 weeks I got a reply from Lenovo and LenovoUS, with a very standard and default reponse, but it is something. Basically apologizing and asking for a description of the problem and the information of my unit. They do not seem to ackowledge the problem and being aware of this thread or the amount of people affected...not sure why they do that. Is it really so hard to say, look we are aware of the issue, we are working on it, we give you updates, etc...The longer we wait the more impatient we get, and all is because there are simply no updates on this from them. At this point we all should keep pushing them as much as we can in all social media, making this public and known, maybe they will speed up/work harder to solve it.

I agree. There needs to be a lot of us tweeting lenovo. We need more attention. This is taking way too long to fix!

Issue might be only in the recent batches. Probably laptops onwards october/november.

No, I received mine in September and had the problem. I've also had the keyboard changed and still have the problem.

Is it so hard for Lenovo to have 1 person working on the problem keeping us updated here? There has to be some engineer somewhere who is working on this, why can't they post here and let us know what's going on instead of leaving us guessing. I'm sure they're going to lose lots of money through the returns and the bad reputation of this new laptop...
