Re: X1 Extreme Gen 2 missing keystrokes

Today my keyboard went wrong again. Multiple misses.

So, this is software related and happens on certain scenarios, that I just simply don't know.

all of you guys wondering if to keep it or return it. if you are 50/50 on it, i'd say return it. that is a one good way to bring this issue up to lenovo's attention.

If one press harder the signal associated to the key last longer and the sampler is able to capt it well. I think that this is a sampling problem as I told in the past, related to the quality of the signal, probably too much elecromagnetic interference from other electronic parts (circuits or fans) or some bad losses on the signal, or again too much noise added to the signal, or too bad clock signal or trigger....there are a lot. But i think it is not a software problem, it is more similar to an hardware problem, sometimes these problems can be reduced or filtered by a good firmware programming (update), sometimes don't. I hope in the first...

I have the same Problem. X1 Extreme Gen2 (i9, 32GB, 2TB SSD, OLED). Today they changed keyboard here because of missing key stroke on old one. But new keyboard also have this problem. Funny, the keyboard was the biggest reason why took lenovo thinkpad. I also have some strange kind of micro stuttering. I believe it is the same reason. (high dpc, micro stuttering, missing keystrokes). I use newest Driver and Bios, so iam up to date. Hope Lenovo will bring a fix/patch or solution soon. At the moment iam really mad, because spent 4000,-€ and have such problems.

Re: X1 Extreme Gen 2 missing keystrokes

today I noticed in task manager that if I just move the mouse around the integrated gpu goes up to 60-70%. it causes a lag/stutter while watching a stream or video for example. while watching a video and move the mouse the integrated gpu is at 99%. I did compare that to my 4th gen x1 carbon with i7-6600U and on that the integrated gpu went up only about to 5-10% while moving the mouse. I started to investigate this because I don't understand why the f*** every single video and stream always stutters if I even touch the mouse on a +3000€ laptop... my near decade old desktop i7-4790K just mops the floor with that i7-9750H. the difference is like night and day between those two.

I noticed that too. Did you find any reason for this? disabling Intel GPU will help? (i know, no solution, but maybe until Lenovo bring a fix for that)

I did not find any. I found something regarding to the HDR to disable it to improve performance but honestly I didn't notice any difference and nevertheless mine wasn't even running the HDR on. Wonder if the integrated gpu has something to do with all this mess (stutter, missing keys etc) the whole laptop just feels so sluggish and no doubt if the cpu's graphics are 3/4 in use when just hovering the mouse.

Indeed iam disappointed too. And it seems to be Lenovo dont cares. They just ignoring it. Today i ask support because of the Keyboard... they told me they never heared something about troubles with missing Keystrokes. Iam the first one. After gave them the links to many threads they said, only because threads exists, its not a fact that the problem really exists. :/ No words to that. We have at least 30 Thinkpads here in our Company. If this will not be fixed soon we will switch to other brand. (Iam granted to make such decissions in our company). By the way, while i wrote this text i have to correct missing strokes, at least 10 times. :(

Thunkpaduser11 is right. My "O" key also systematically  does not register keystroke if pressed on the bottom left corner, but does if pressed elsewhere. Similar issue happens with my "N" key.

However, I miss much less keystrokes since I changed the two BIOS settings recommended a few days ago.

So the missed keystrokes come from a mechanically defective keyboard -mine has the Dolby sign at the bottom left, and issues with the software/driver.

Agreed, Lenovo is putting their head in the sand and trying to ignore it.  Here is a link to a thread opened a few days ago with someone saying that this is happening with 10 machines that they just ordered, and the Lenovo tech gives the default script saying that this is the first they've heard of it despite several similar threads being around for months describing the same issue
