All,

Those of you who have followed this thread will know that Lenovo requested some systems from customers for failure analysis which, after failure analysis, resulted in the release of a BIOS / EC controller at the beginning of March which received mixed results / feedback from customers. We would like to thank customers who further offered constructive feedback as this enabled us to find a further issue for which a BIOS / EC controller fix will be released in the near future, unfortunately currently I do not have an ETA.

Thank you again to those who have assisted.

Andy

Thank you for sharing this information! :)

Glad to hear that Lenovo is still working to fix this issue and that we can pinpoint this to a firmware/software related issue.

I have the same spec, but just 1x2TB instead of 2x2TB, surely that's not causing a difference. I am NOT opening this flagship laptop to repaste it to solve an issue that's cause by bad assembly. (but it might be solved by lenovo themselves as soon as I send it in). Audio driver is already updated (everything is) but it only happens through a hdmi screen connected to the usb-c dock.

Andy

What is 'near future'? May, july or december?

We need a timeframe. We were waiting for FIVE months.

Five.

@joloriquelme

I thought you already sold your device and quit with Lenovo.... ;)

I think in times like this, with Corona and Covid-19, there are more important Things than a Notebook. They will fix the bugs when the resources and needed time is available.

Yes, we all know here that your posts keep on repeating that you don't have this problem and even if you do then you actually kinda like it because it always could have been worse.

This thread is for people who actually have problem with missing keystrokes and there are plenty of them compared to you one who is actually happy to have only 5 missing keystrokes per day, because it could always have been worse. Not bad for a 5k USD laptop that's sold as a supposedly flagship product, right?

And no, this thread is actually not about Lenovo fixing the issue. It's about that for maybe a week or two. Past five months it's been about Lenovo denying the problem exists at all and people from around the world reporting they're wrong.

Had they said they're going to fix it there wouldn't be 67 pages of rants here.

While I'm still very annoyed at Lenovo for this problem and the fact that it's taken this long for them to address it, I have to at least say thanks to Andy for giving us some sort of response.

@rewter2

No, Problem is that crying and shouting out the problem will net help. I think Lenovo registered the users with problems and they sure work on it and will fix it. But this is not a thing done in just 2-3 days... Its ok to report the problem, but it doesnt help spaming the forum every day just to say how bad this device/company is. So what do you expect with this actions?

When you pay USD +3.000 for a product, that happens to be the most expensive product in your lineup, you expect that a serious problem like this would be fixed in a couple weeks. One month, at max.

Six weeks? No.

Eight weeks? Unnaceptable.

Twenty weeks? You can expect that I will annoy you EVERY SINGLE DAY UNTIL THIS FINALLY IS FIXED, even in the middle of a worldwide health crysis that have all of us working from home (but still working), and actually using the keyboard a lot more than before.

I had to correct 20 times this post.
