@gazrang  That worked... why? And I already have 1.30 installed; should I download 1.29-1.22?

I will stay at 1.30 BIOS. Everything works fine after this update.

Maybe there is another kind of error that it won't affect me.

Re:X1 Extreme Gen 2 missing keystrokes

in these days I had a 100% CPU load issue (fw 1.30). After downgraded to the "new" fw no more issue (and, till now, no missing strokes also).

Obviously, I can't be completely sure that 1.30 brought the CPU load issue, but for now it is ok.

I'm running BIOS v1.30 since release on my X1E Gen2 and cannot confirm high CPU usage. No issues at all.

Hi all, same problem here, two new X1 Extreme G2 unit, boh with the same issue.BIOS update (1.29) do not provide any improvement. Disabling the USB Selective Suspend has a better effect, the issue now appear seldom, but it's not fixed at all. Updated now to BIOS 1.29-1.22 + Disabling the USB Selective Suspend, seems better now. Thanks. Luca

Well,

It turns out that Lenovo pulled the 1.29-1.22 BIOS Update too.

They roll back to 1.29, without this fix.

So, now, we went back in time and this problem is STILL NOT FIXED, at least for the people who couldn't update on time.

Any news Lenovo? Why these Updates (1.30 and 1.29-1.22) were pulled? Is there anything that should be worry us?

Re:X1 Extreme Gen 2 missing keystrokes

Hello all, long time no see here. I managed to get the 1.30 BIOS update at the time it was released and my laptop has been fine after it. No missing keys and the overall performance has been increased, no more stuttering and heavy CPU loads with normal near to idle usage. As i read the comments what if there are two different kinds of batches of these laptops:

  1. Batch in which those laptops performed better from the start, those didn't feel so laggy nor stuttered.
  2. Batch in which those laptops performed worse from the start, those felt laggy and stuttered with heavy CPU load without any actual load. (mine was in this group)

Now as they released the 1.30 BIOS fix it might kind of flipped the devices as mine has no stutter at all nor any other problems anymore. And now the other devices has began to show these symptoms. Maybe Lenovo finally saw this whole situation and pulled all the BIOS FW's off the shelf because they all have some bugs which affect to these device's CPU's. I don't know and I don't like how they still hide everything and doesn't give any updates or anything. I'm also kind of pissed they marked this topic solved (I didn't do it) as it clearly is not now as they pulled of the update and there are now people with this problem existing without a fix or any update when it will be fixed.

EDIT.

Also I see Lenovo didn't after all recover all the messages to this topic unlike they promised, I think I had close to 100 messages written just in this topic alone. Lenovo treats their customers as a cattle even if you pay 3000 EUROS for a flagship device. The more you pay the more you will be dismissed.

I will second that. I work at a large company and transparency and the trust of your users is one of the most important things to get right.

Found a bug in the BIOS? Great! Bugs happen! It's the right choice to act and pull a buggy BIOS from the download section.

But... Now tell us about it and let us now what happened. Don't have your users guessing.

Don't just pull it and pretend it did not happen.

I've been a great fan of Lenovo since back to the IBM times (I've owned 5 Laptops myself and recommended them to others).

But this will make me less likely to buy Lenovo in the future. Your users should not feel like you have something to hide.
