X1 Extreme Gen 3 goes to sleep as soon as PC is locked, despite any sleep settings

2020-09-22, 14:11 PM

Apologies if this has been answered somewhere, but I could not find an explanation...!

Completely irrespective of my power & sleep settings (see below), the laptop goes to sleep (modern standby it looks like) after 5-6 minutes of inactivity ... (Of course I am on external power)

Just before it goes to sleep, I see the camera go on looking for me. If I show face, it unlocks and the screen goes on. If I don't - it falls asleep.

This is extremely annoying as it interrupts things I have set to run. Why does it do that and how do I stop it from automatically falling asleep!?

I have now narrowed down the cause:

Every time the PC is locked (automatically or manually - through Win+L), it takes just 5-6 seconds and sleep is initiated!

This is extremely annoying! Noone else experiencing this!? Lenovo, please assist!

Solution found, after many hours of googling and experimenting!!!!

Thank you Lenovo for allowing Standby state control!
