I think this is a simple question but no amount of research I have done in the forums has provided a clear explanation....is the Active Pen 2 just the next generation of the Thinkpad Pen Pro or is something else going on here. Trying to figure out which pen to spec with a couple of X1 Extreme's and I just want to confirm that the Active Pen 2 would be the latest and greatest??

Think I might have found my answer in a somewhat obscure Lenovo Pen document:
D. ThinkPad Pen Pro (also known as Active Pen)

Active pen 2 does not work very well at all on the X1 extreme, I couldn't make it work properly on photoshop and experience some lag overall. Quite a shame for a pen from the same constructor.

We have both pens in our hands, make appears very similar and maybe made by same manufacturer:
a) Lenovo Active Pen 2, Part No. GX80N07825
b) Lenovo Pen Pro

~Suspect that Wacom made this; included instruction manual noted that user had to download the Wacom app to make full use of its functionality!
~(1x AAAA battery + 2x very small button cell battery)
B) Lenovo Pen Pro
~USB-C charges internal battery
C) Both above pens works with our X1E1 (X1 Extreme Gen 1)

Not for me, I've tried countless different wacom drivers, still can't make this bloody pen work on photoshop on the X1 extreme. I find it very unusual for lenovo releasing such a lame product not even compatible with it's own tactile screens -_-
