X1 Extreme trackpoint left click button.

2018-12-28, 17:21 PM

The left click above the track pad doesn't seem to properly register my click unless I press hard or at a certain spot or angle.  Is this something that can be fixed without an RMA? Where is the closest repair centre in Toronto?

Received my X1 Extreme yesterday and I have exact same issue. Pretty ridiculous considering how much these things cost. I'll be contacting support tomorrow.

Not yet quite busy at work but after a firmware upgrade the button seems more responsive but not the same as the right mouse click button, seems like a software issue as it is intermittent I had that issue when I bought mine and like the last time it got better.

Keep me posted on how you resolved this issue.

Did you get it resolved, I am busy this week but will definitely schedule for a repair next week. I am worried the problem might come back.

Same issue... brand new X1 Extreme and the buttons don't fire half the time. I submitted a ticket. Has anyone had this resolved and how? HW/SW?

I'll add that I have their BlueTooth keyboard for my desktop that does NOT have this problem and other Lenovo laptops I used also do not have this issue.

For anyone experiencing this:

Keyboard was swapped and the problem is now solved. The buttons now respond with every tactile-click.

One item to note - the finger print reader stopped working and the solution was to remove all existing fingerprints and re-register. Most likely a security feature preventing circumvention.
