X1 - Making the 90W ultra-slim adapter portable

So, as a number of posters on the forum have commented, the 90W adapter that comes with X1 Carbon is just too huge.

Going below the 90W (to say a 65W Yoga or 45W Yoga adapter improves portability, but then you don't get the Rapid Charge feature)

There is an ultra-slim 90W adapter, but it has a mess of cables that come with it:

Does anyone know if there's a cable we can buy with this adapter that converts it to just a straight connection from the adapter to the laptop? None of this DC stuff and two-headed cables would be nice.

Can someone who owns this thing chime in? Thanks!

Re: X1 - Making the 90W ultra-slim adapter portable

On the newer version of the AC/DC ultraslim 90 watts adapter (the one you linked), you can't do it. But on the older superseded model 41N8487 you can (which by the way required the actual brick part to be used when on DC). I guess you can't have best of both world.
