X1 Yoga 1st Gen Touchscreen not working

2019-12-31, 8:54 AM

Got a X1 Yoga 1st Gen. and the touchscreen is not working. There is a lot to find about this issue, but it always goes about reinstalling drivers. This helps for a while, but for some reason the touchscreen will be kind of disabled again.

Does someone know a reliable way to fix that?

All drivers are up to date, Windows 10 also ist up to date.

Hi !

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums.

When did the issue start? Did you notice any system update prior to the issue?

If the problem persist after Windows 10 automatic update, we suggest that you perform a system restore for us to determine if the problem is within the operating system or the BIOS. Click here on how to perform system restore.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Meanwhile I reinstalled Win 10 and the touchscreen worked for a while. But after a few days I noticed the same issue again - touchscreen not working. I can't exactely say what the root cause was, but for sure not a software-update.

I'm having a similar issue with a newly installed touch screen replacement which touch screen/pen functions aren't working. It should be the right screen. And device driver says it is functioning properly, but it isn't. I'll try a system  rebuild to see it if fixes issue.

for cross reference my subject here is 'yoga x1 2nd gen, replaced screen, touch not working'. No one has suggested a fix yet.

A real pain because the point of a yoga is the touch screen functionality.

Absolutely and the help from Lenovo is very poor. I won't buy a new one if this is not possible to fix.

I maybe know a little bit more in my case. I use the OneLink+ docking and after the device was connected to it, touch didn't work anymore.  Reboot doesn't help neither.

Any help out there?

Once again went back to the last working state. Touchscreen/Pen work for the moment again but for sure not for very long as my experience showed.

BUT: They only work in fully bent mode. They do not in stand mode nor in tent mode. Is this a matter of configuration (didn't find out how) or is that another bug?

In the device-manager > HID the corresponding drivers are only listed in fully bent mode.
