X1 Yoga 1st Generation connection to two screens

2019-11-10, 22:08 PM

Hi,

I am new here, however I have a Lenovo X1 Yoga first Generation and I would like to connect it to two external displays.

These are my PC details: X1 Yoga 1st Gen (Type 20FQ, 20FR) Laptop (ThinkPad) - Type 20FQ

Is there a guide or setup that I can follow?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

This system with HDMI and Mini DP port . So, you can using a Mini DP dongle and HDMI for connection to two external displays.

I/O (Input/Output) Ports
  • OneLink+
  • Mini DisplayPort™
  • HDMI™
  • 3 x USB 3.0
  • microSD™

Hi,

Thank you for that, turns out that my mini display dongle was the one giving me issues.

Now I have bot screen connected but I am not happy with the resolution, seems I am capped at 1080 * 1920 on both screens. which is weird because the one is 1080 p a 24 inch dell, but I also have a 29 inch LG Ultrawide Screen which is 4K .

Can you point me to the right drivers/ dock/tool to use or the PC can only have 1080 p on three screens including the PC screen itself?

Regards

Hello,

1. Connect two external displays using Mini DP dongle and HDMI cable.

2. WIN+P change Project to Extend.

3.Go to Settings->Display ->Multiple displays-> choose 24 inch dell  ,Check box"Make thsi my main display" . Reboot PC.

4.Go to Settings->Display->Scale and layout->Display resolution-> Try to change the resolution . Reboot PC.

5. Repeat step 3 .4 to change resolution of 29 inch LG . Reboot PC.

6. WIN+P change Project to Duplicate . Then you can do anything.
