X1 Yoga 2nd Gen and OneLink+ Dock: USB converter?

2018-03-12, 8:32 AM

I just bought a ThinkPad OneLink+ Dock for my Lenovo X1 Yoga 2nd Gen laptop. I used the product guide to find it.

Unfortunately, the connector is not compatible to my 2nd gen X1.

Is there a converter og can I connect via the USB?

Hi YogaCaveBear, and welcome to the Lenovo User Community!

Please provide a link to the product guide which said the OneLink+ Dock is compatible with the X1 Yoga 2nd Gen, so we can get it fixed! As you have found it is NOT compatible, and there is no USB converter :smileysad:.

The most complete reference to compatibility of all accessories is the Options Compatibility Matrix. You can use a USB dock or a Thunderbolt dock - the Lenovo Quick Pick site also shows your options.

Hi YogaCaveBear,

I don't see anything at those links which claims the OneLink+ dock is compatible with hte X1 Yoga 2nd Gen. The reference guide says it's compatible with the X1 Yoga, but there is no mention of the X1 Yoga 2nd Gen.

Have you tried returning in exchange for one of the docks which IS compatibile with the X1 Yoga 2nd Gen? Usually that is more likely to suceed than just asking for you money back.

Hi YogaCaveBear,

I'm sorry you are mis-reading that :smileysad:: That page is a reference guide for ALL the current ThinkPad Docks, Port Replicators, and Ultrabases, irrespective of which system they support. I use it regularly. Click on the OneLink+ link, and it directs you to the compatibility information, where you can find what works with the X1 Yoga 2nd:

"For the latest updates on the compatible systems, refer to one of the following:
Lenovo Smart Find
Accessories Compatibility Guide"

Have you tried to exchange the OneLink+ dock for a compatible one yet? The longer you leave it the harder it will get!

I clicked on the link you provided.  It does not show X1 Yoga 2nd gen?  Only X1 Yoga?  If I were you maybe call where you bought it and try to exhange for the right one?
