2021-02-23, 8:38 AM

Hi! I'm interested in a monitor which is with type c port supporting PowerDelivery 60W, DP Alt mode, Data (according to its spec. So can my X1 Yoga 4th Gen be connected with it through the USB-C Thunderbolt™ USB 3.1 Type-C Gen 2 port? If yes, will the output be be 4k HDR? Thanks!

Hi Fufu Lai,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

The port configuration on the X1 Yoga 4th Gen is as follows:

  • 2x USB-C 3.1 Gen 2 / Thunderbolt™ 3 (support data
transfer, Power Delivery and DisplayPort™ 1.2)

Depending on the Monitor, you will be able to play 4k resolution, but I do not think this device has HDR support, as this depends on DisplayPort 1.3+ or HDMI 2.0 + for HDR10, which the device does not have.

Please check the Display Requirements for HDR here
