I can't adjust brightness on my Thinkpad X1 Yoga. I've run all the latest driver updates, used lenovo companion and everything is up to date, including bios. No matter what I do the brightness will neither increase or decrease.
It's stuck on full brightness, so it's not too bad, and I'd be loathe to send it in for repair and lose a week or work to get it fixed. Is there anything anyone can suggest that might help software wise?

Think Engineering has confirmed an issue where brightness levels on X1 Yoga ThinkPads cannot be controlled. Lenovo has created a registry patch for the ECRB module, and will make it available soon.
I will provide an update when the fix has been published.

I bought the X1 carbon around 2 months ago and only just had time to play around with it.
I realized that both my brightness button does not work. The gauge does appear when I press either of them, and the gauge shows that the brightness is going up and down, but the actual screen brightness remains the same throughout.
I've updated all the updates and even the BIOS, but the problem still persists. Does anyone else encounter the same issue ?

In response to customer reports that display brightness cannot be controlled via dedicated key input on X1 Yoga ThinkPads, Lenovo has released a patch. The patch makes a registry change to restore this function.
The patch can be downloaded here: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds118463
A permanent fix will be bundled with the Intel driver in a future release.
